Love beyond borders: American woman marries online lover from Pakistan

HARIPUR: An American woman travelled all the way to Pakistani city Haripur to marry a man who she became friends with on Facebook almost a year ago. Mary Kathleen, now Maryam, embraced Islam for her love Adeel Awan and the couple tied the knot joyously in presence of Adeel’s family in Haripur. Pictures of the wedding show Maryam clad in traditional bridal dress surrounded by Adeel’s family. According to sources, the entire village attended the unique union of Maryam and Adeel, also to have a look at the American bride. This is not the first time such an incident has taken place. Earlier this year, a woman from Canada came all the way to Pakistan and marry a man who she befriended over Facebook. Agnetha converted to Islam to marry Qaiser Abbas, a resident of Jalalpur Bhattian.

Two Pakistani soldiers martyred in firing from across Afghan border

RAWALPINDI: Two paramilitary soldiers were martyred and five others injured in a cross-border attack in Kurram Agency, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Sunday. According to the ISPR, the troops were carrying out routine surveillance along Pak-Afghan border for plugging of gaps and making necessary preparations for starting fencing in that area. Pakistani troops are exercising maximum restraint so as to avoid any Afghan civilian casualties, the ISPR said, adding that military engagement is underway to defuse situation.

Shahbaz, Nisar meet in Lahore

In every year or century, a new invention appears which brought changes in our life. Some name this science and technology. The use of new technology is increasing in our life day-by-day. It is increasing very quickly that even we cannot imagine. You cannot even think, in the new future, these technologies will change our life altogether. The modern life is very different as compared to old life. New technologies arose in every era which created convenience at that time. The arrival of new tech will never stop. It will be up to dated and modernized in every era. No one can stop the technologies to be invented or created.

Always the one thing that happens in every invention or creation is that it ceases the use of some of the things that were important at their time. A human is always innovative and imaginative. When he imagines something he tries to make it true. Innovative things excite the human being. But also he keeps the record of old things. Now I am going to discuss some important things that might obsolete one day:

1. Digital Camera:

It is not just a camera. It is digital camera or digicam. It produces photos that are stored in digital memory.

First invented camera was a pinhole camera. It was invented by a Muslim scientist Ibn-al-Haitham. Idea of digicam came from a scientist Eugene F. Lally. He was thinking to capture photos of planets and astronauts position. He wants to use photo sensor. These cameras produce still, single framed or sometime multi-framed photographs.

These cameras are the reason of the expansion of smart phones. They contain camera. But these are more light and small in size than a camera. The use of camera is reducing as the rate of users of these phones is increasing rapidly. Some of mobile manufacturing companies are launching camera phones which are getting the attention of the customers and users. Due some new trends promoted the industry of mobile. Ultimately digital cameras will end up very soon.

2. Storage Devices:

Storage devices are important devices for computers. These devices include hard disks, pen drives and floppy disks. These things store all the data. These are offline methods of data storage. It may vary in size. There storage size is measured in megabytes, gigabytes and sometime in terabytes. Smallest unit is bit. Eight bits form one byte. The data stored in such devices could be private or public.

First hard drive was made in 1996. The size was almost of two medium sized refrigerators and could store on 3.75 MB. A USB flash drive is also known as flash drive, pen drive, disk key and jump drive. It contains USB interface with flash memory. It is removable and re-written able. It weighs approximately 30 grams. It firstly appeared near the end of 200. Its capacity to store data was about 8MB. The father of pen drive is Pua Ahieinseng of Malaysia. Storage data cloud is being used online now-a-days to store a large number of data of any kind rather than to use old storage device like USB etc. whish store limited data just. Examples of cloud storage are iCloud, Google drive, GCloud, one drive and dropbox. Cloud storage can store a lot of data that USB cannot store. Some of these are paid to get storage, but some provide free data storage. Because of online service, clouds are getting attention of users now. These clouds can easily exist in any smart phones or androids to work. So it is no need to take these clouds separately as these are present in your cell phones every time. In 2005, personal cloud was announced which is still exist as Box. AWS-3 cloud from Amazon in 2006 got famed and adoption. The users of clouds are increasing day by day. Due to the increase in number of clouds’ users may result in the decline of old devices i.e. USB etc. Their users can be obsolete at all in near future. So finally old sort of storage devices will be replaced by clouds at all.

3. Map:

Map is a symbolic depiction emphasizing relationship between some space themes. There are following types of maps:-

Atlas

Climatic map

Physical map

Political map

Most of these maps are static, fix to paper or some other durable medium. It is commonly used to depict geography. Map shows political boundaries, population, physical features, climate and topography. Maps are drawn by Cartographers. These all are the features of paper map. Despite of these unprecedented features of map, still it will be eradicated at all and will replace by Google-map which is trending map for all in these days. Every one like to use Google-map for searching their desirable places and features as it is easy to locate anything by using Google-map as compared to paper map. It is time saving and latest technology to use. It is a terrific product of Google that contains several maps like satellite, traffic etc. It is included in all smart phones. So it is easily available every time and every where you want due to its presence in smart phones. Increase in the number of users of this Google product has reduced the users of paper maps. Ultimately there will be no paper map in humans’ pockets or offices in future.

4. GPS devices:

GPS is the abbreviation of global positioning system which is used to locate the position of place, man and vehicles etc. This provides location, journey and distance. It is owned by United States of America. It gives Geo-location and information to GPS receiver. It does not need any user to give any data as it operates itself on internet reception. It was launched by USA.

There is also advantage of Google Map that it provides GPS in it. Now there is no need of GPS system at all. Just open it and find locations. This is the main reason that why it could end up soon.

5. Documents:

Documents are the source of record keeping of human or institute or a company. This shows that the company or institute or a man is well established. Without documents world seems to be nothing. Documents are kept in hard-copies either in print or hand written form. They publish their reports as documents.

But fortunately or unfortunately, this thing also will obsolete in future due to the arrival of software like MS Office. It is cheaper, easy to use labor-saving, searchable, portable and editable. But hard form of documents is not editable. The software document will decrease the use of hard form documents because now education institutes are coming toward computer documents.

6. CDs/DVDs

There are two types of data storage devices in computer. One of them is CDs and DVDs. They are limited in storage. CDs were announced in 1982 and DVDs in 1985. The storage is about 700 MB in CDs and up to 17.08 GB in DVDs. The disks are used to store data. These disks required players. Each has its specific player. CDs and DVDs are played in CD player and DVD player respectively.

Now it is the time of internet. People are using internet to see online everything. It is very quick method to get data. We can search anything we went on internet then in no time. We can collect data about anything we desire through internet without consuming our so much time. So, finally CD/DVDs will be eliminated at all due to the rapid use of internet.

7. Invoices

Papers billing and receipts of electricity, gas and appliances etc. will be obsolete near future at all as online billing is flourishing now a days. It was very difficult to stand in queues before banks for a long time. An invoice, bill or tab is document issued by seller to a buyer. So, the modern technology is the online payment of invoice and bills. So, there is no need to stand in ad queue for a long time. Online payment will dominate at all.

8. Remote Control

Remote controls are common things in our living rooms. When you are watching a TV it requires a remote control. It is a user interface.

These devices will not remain in use for long time. It is because there is Wi-Fi system inserted in TVs. Thus, it can be connected to TVs. Then soon this will remove these remotes from our life.

9. Calculators

Portable device used for calculations is known as calculator. Firstly it was reported in 1960s. It solved basic arithmetic to complex mathematics. Instead of general purpose calculators, there are those designed for special markets, e.g. scientific calculators and graphing calculators.

As I described earlier smart phones are getting attention of users, it also reduce the use of designed calculators. So, calculators will be eliminated soon.

10. Alarm Clocks

Alarm clocks alert us, awake us and remind us at our own specific time. There two types of alarm clocks. These types are analogue and digital clocks. Both alert us with different sounds. But both of them will remain forever. It also will disappear in future because all the phones contain alarm clocks.

Conclusion

As mentioned earlier, all of the above inventions and devices are on the spot of disappearance due to just single purpose or few of devices. These are becoming out dated things. It is the rule of nature that everything will taste the death. People now are moving towards multi-purpose things. There most desires are fulfilled with internet and smart phones. Modern inventions are time saving and easy to use. So, the old things have lost their value. As their demand decreases and then people move to new things. They love to use new things.

Those out dated things causes boredom amongst people. So, this encourages them to reduce the use of old inventions. Soon new things will arrive and these things also will not be on seen.

Sindh Rangers introduces new uniform

KARACHI: Pakistan Rangers Sindh has authorized new uniform change effective April 30 2018.According to a statement issued by the paramilitary force, the pattern of uniform is being changed for all ranks deployed in Sindh province and its capital Karachi.
