I don't know any lion, remarks CJP Nisar
ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan on Monday remarked that the court is observing patience over the anti-judiciary sloganeering and added that 'I don't know any lion'.During hearing of Media Commission case, CJP Mian Saqib Nisar said that slogans were raised outside the court after the announcement of verdict in Article 62(1)(f) case.Referring to his fellow judges, CJP Nisar said they are the real lions, I don't know any lion. The chief judge observed that court needs to be respected just as the elders should be.Deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif was declared disqualified for life from electoral politics on Friday by the apex court in a landmark judgement while deciding the period of disqualification under Article 62(1)(f).After the verdict, which shut the doors for elder Sharif from politics, PML-N criticised the judiciary severely. Lion is party's electoral symbol. When the court asked the government official for the progress on the appointment of Chairman of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra), Additional Attorney General Rana Waqar, informed the bench that a seven-member search committee has been formed which will complete the procedure within 15 days.On this, the CJP reconstituted the committee and removed State Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb and replaced her with Secretary Information. At one point, the CJ said that we want to make Pemra an independent body in true sense.
